Amazon Prime Drops Grubhub for Uber Eats With No Delivery Fee on Orders of 25 Dollars or More

Prime members lost free Grubhub+ on November 5 and got Uber Eats in its place the same morning. The new perk is a $0 delivery fee on restaurant orders of $25 or more, ordered through Amazon. It’s a better network and a higher bar to clear, and which matters more depends on how you order.

What you get

US Prime members qualify, including the half-price plans, Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access. You can share the perk with one other adult in your household through Amazon Family. Orders go through Amazon.com or the Amazon Shopping app, at amazon.com/ubereats or by searching “Uber Eats” in the app. You sign in with your Amazon account and pay with the card already on file. No Uber account is needed.

Coverage is nearly 10,000 US cities and towns and hundreds of thousands of restaurants, from Chipotle, Wingstop and Sweetgreen to local places. That’s about two and a half times the city count Grubhub had with Prime. If Grubhub never reached your town, this is a straight improvement.

To launch it, Amazon is giving $20 off each of your first two orders of $25 or more, used within 14 days. Prime Visa holders get 5% back on Uber Eats orders through December 5.

What you lose

The minimum went up. Grubhub+ waived delivery on orders over $12. Uber Eats through Prime needs $25. The solo lunch order is the one that gets more expensive.

Service fees still apply. Amazon has confirmed that, and the waiver covers only the delivery fee, which is often the smaller charge. Groceries aren’t included either. Amazon points you to its own same-day grocery delivery for that.

Prime or Uber One

Uber One costs $9.99 a month and gives free delivery above each store’s minimum, lower service fees, up to 10% off some orders, grocery coverage and 5% back on rides. Amazon claims Prime members will save more than $175 a year, compared with ordering from Uber Eats directly without Uber One. That figure is Amazon’s own estimate, based on August 2026 orders.

Here’s the simple test. If you order restaurant delivery over $25 a few times a month and already pay for Prime, use the Amazon route and skip Uber One. If you order small meals, groceries or ride a lot, Uber One still earns its fee. Amazon hasn’t said whether the two memberships stack, so don’t count on it.

Before your first order, compare the checkout total, fees included, on Amazon and in the Uber Eats app. That one number tells you whether the perk is saving you anything.
